Headwaters of the Mattole River, California

At this Headwaters of the Mattole River site, local school children and community volunteers released King Salmon smolts which will migrate to the estuary and the ocean nearly 50 miles away. The students learned about salmon habitat needs and watershed restoration efforts.  This site also contains artificial woody debris construction to help stream restoration.
